Welcome to Hobart, Tasmania - host city for the 15th Australian Ceramics Triennale - May 2019.

The Triennale is Australia's landmark national ceramics conference, bringing artists, educators, theorists and collectors from around the country, and the world, together to interrogate the field of contemporary ceramic practice.

For the first four days of May 2019, the magnificent Princes Wharf 1 (PW1), in the heart of Hobart’s waterfront arts precinct, will be home to a full program of rich and engaging discourse. Presentations, demonstrations and conversations by, with and amongst some of the world's most exciting practitioners will speak to the themes of Holding Space Making Place.

Conversations and opportunities for exchange will continue throughout the venue in the first ever Triennale Sideshow Alley – including The Thinking Space, Ask the Doctor, Don’t Think Just Make and the The Philosophy Café. Exhibitions, performances, trade stalls, The Pot Shop, lounge areas, bar, café, chill out spaces, exhibitions and more exhibitions – all under the one roof, mean you’ll never miss a moment of the action.

In the forecourt there’ll be food trucks and a blazing fire (or two) to mingle by.

And then there's the special projects - Petal Kiln and Fire Sculpture, Under the Shadow of the Banyan Tree, Boxplot, Marine Ostinato and Yasmin Smith.

Satellite events around Tasmania both before and after the conference will include workshops, master classes, and of course, more exhibitions.  Round out your Triennale experience and take the opportunity to further explore our gorgeous island state.

See you in May!
